What does ECHS cost to use?

There is NO cost, at present, to use ECHS, advertising and browsing advertisements are completely free. However, you have to register with ECHS to advertise and to view the contact details of an advertisement.

With the prevalence of spam, many innocent e-mails like ours are blocked, or filtered. Check your junk folder for an e-mail entitled ECHS and move it to your inbox and add the ECHS e-mail to your address book list to ensure you get future e-mails from us.

How long is my ECHS account valid for?

Your ECHS account is permanent and will only be removed in one of three situations and these are:

  1. If you have registered and successfully activated your account but have not logged in at least one time within the first two weeks of activating your account, your account will be deleted. If you have logged in at least once within the first two weeks, your account remains permanent.
  2. Violation of the ECHS Terms of Use.
  3. If you contact ECHS make a request to have your account details removed.

After posting an advertisement, how long does take to appear on the ECHS website?

Advertisements posted before 17:00 / 5:00pm CET (Central European Time), should be published before 12:00 / 12:00pm CET the following day. Notifications of rejected advertisements are subject to the same time frame. You can update your advertisement before it is published, but your advert will not appear the ECHS website until you get an notification e-mail stating your advert is published.

How can I check whether my advertisement has been published or is on line?

When you post an advertisement you will get an e-mail notification stating that ECHS has received your advert. If your advertisement is published, after it is reviewed, you are sent another e-mail notification with a link to your published advert and its expiration date.

Can I place more than one advertisement and how long does it stay on line?

You can place up to three (3) different advertisements with your username and advertisements stay on line for 45 days.

How do I get my personal website address for my advertisement?

To get your personal URL (website address) for your advert, log in to your ECHS account and then from the "Registered User Menu", in the left column of this web page, you will see a link: My Advertisements. Click on this link to view a summary of your advert. Then click on the advertisement title, which is a blue link, or the image of your advert in the "Advert title & description" column. You will then see a whole web page with your advertisement. You must then copy and save the website address in your web browser (where you type in a web addresses) which will look something like this:

You can also save the link to one of many popular social networking sites by selecting a bookmark button at the bottom of the ECHS web page. Additionally, updating your advertisement will result in your personal web address link for your advert being automatically sent to you by e-mail, which will be the contact e-mail address used with your advert.

How do I know if an advertiser is not a real estate agent who may charge extra fees?

Every advertisement for a home, property or land will have the status of the advertiser, which is either a Real Estate Agent, Housing Organization or a Private Individual.

Why are e-mail addresses not included with advertisements?

One word, SPAM! Various methods are used to "data mine" e-mail addresses from websites, for misuse and unsolicited acts. By excluding e-mails from advertisements, this is one way ECHS protects user details from this practice.

What do I do if I forget my username or password?

Your username or password can be reset by using the e-mail address you are registered with. Click on the "Log in" button on any page of the ECHS website and you will see a question mark “?” next to the fields for username and password input. Click on the question mark “?” and follow the instructions to regain access to your ECHS account. If you use the "log in module" and not the Log in button, below the username and password input fields of the module select the link 'Forgot your password?' or ‘Forgot your username?’ Follow the instructions to regain access to your ECHS account

How can I update or remove my advertisement, e-mail address or other personal data from the ECHS website?

As a registered user, you can update your registration data and advertisements with current and accurate information at any time. You may view, update, edit or delete your registration data you have provided to ECHS. Just log in to your ECHS account and then from the "Registered User Menu", in the left column of this web page, you will see a link: My Advertisements. When you click on this link, your advertisement(s) will appear and in the Actions column of the table of your advertisement, click on Update or Delete link. To make changes to your registration details click on the My Account link of the Registered User Menu. To completely remove your username and registration details from ECHS, please contact us.

How secure is my personal information and is my e-mail address protected from abuse?

The server (computer) where data is submitted to, stored by and transferred from ECHS uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software to protect your data and details that you do not want disclosed, such as e-mail addresses. The server is also protected by a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to any information that is stored.
